The Department of American and European Integration of the Higher School of International Educational Programs served as the foundation for the establishment of the center. The Osh State University rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, academic staff, students, and a team from the University of Cadiz led by Mr. Rafael Jimenez, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, all attended the inaugural event.

The Center will receive regularly updated information and materials regarding two nations and their universities. Students will learn languages and promote the cultures of the two countries in this location.

Students who finished a six-month study at the University of Cadiz in the previous academic year received certificates at the ceremony.

"We learned about Osh State University and observed its high quality throughout the visit. With the launch of the Kyrgyz-Spanish center, we will organize more cooperative initiatives if prior students received training in academic mobility under the Erasmus + program. We are talking about the potential for dual degrees in PhD programs. I have no doubt that this facility will one day serve as a historical hub for Central Asian universities "Rafael Jimenez stated.

Inmaculada Velasco Gomez, a professor at the University of Cadiz who has been employed by Osh State University since 2018, is the director of the new Kyrgyz-Spanish institute.

Since 2011, Osh State University and the University of Cadiz have worked together to promote international credit mobility.
