A roundtable on the prevention and elimination of violence against women

On December 7, a roundtable on ways to strengthen society's response to violence against women and girls was held. The event carried out as part of the campaign 16-day activism against gender-based violence, calling for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

Venera Ryskulova, vice mayor of Osh, Ernis Toltoev, deputy plenary representative of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Osh Region, and officials of the crisis center Akzhurok were present at the round table.

The rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov briefed the attendees on the university's recent activities and future goals in relation to this campaign.

According to Zhyldyz Artykova, Vice-Rector for Student Community Affairs at Osh State University, following the round table, Osh State University will create a suitable action plan, according to which active work is to be done to end the silence surrounding violence against women and girls and intensify group efforts aimed at eradicating all forms of discrimination.
