Winter School: “How to write and publish a research article acceptable in Scopus index journal”
A winter school for scientists was held from January 16 to 20, 2023, at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov in accordance with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Decree granting special status to five of the country’s top universities. This event was supported by the National Erasmus + Office at the Kyrgyz-Korean Information Access Center.
The seminar program was focused on the practice of writing a research article, and its subsequent publication in a journal indexed in Scopus. The workshop provided participants with the key concepts of research methodology, and the basic research process in various areas, including research article structure, research design (experimental and non-experimental), sampling methods, research proposal, data collection and analysis. Participants acquired the basic knowledge and skills necessary to understand the research process and conduct research using quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods, and the process of preparing a manuscript for publication. Also, the participants practiced data analysis using Stata and SPSS softwares and presented their research proposals. The training was attended by guest speakers with extensive experience in conducting research and publishing in international journals.
The training was conducted with the aim of compiling skills, knowledge and research that meet the requirements of the labor market and international accreditation organizations, more specifically the requirements of QS World University Rankings, paying special attention to publications in indexed information journals in the Scopus or Web of Science database.
7 scientists of Osh State University, selected on the basis of 7 criteria, took part in the training seminar “How to write and publish a research article acceptable in Scopus index journal”.
On January 24, 2023, the rector of Osh State University Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov met with the participants of the training seminar from Osh State University. The parties discussed further work in this direction and their implementation, based on the results of the seminar.
