OshSU graduate won a bronze medal at the World Championship

Munarbek Seyitbek uulu, a proud graduate of Osh State University, won the first medal in the history of Kyrgyzstan at the World Boxing Championship being held in Tashkent.

Munarbek Seyitbek uulu competed against Uzbekistan’s Abdumalik Khalokov in the 1/2 finals in the category of under 57 kg weight, and as a result won the bronze medal. The fighter defeated the Tajik boxer in the quarter finals.

“After Orzubek Nazarov and Andrey Kurnyavka, we are proud to say that he became our third boxer and the first boxer in the history of sovereign Kyrgyzstan to win a medal at the world championship”, said Turdaly Omorov, the honored boxing coach of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Munarbek Seyitbek uulu graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education of Osh State University and completed his master’s degree at the same Faculty. Since 2017, he has been a member of the main boxing team of Kyrgyzstan, a master of sports of the Kyrgyz Republic in boxing.

The coaches are Beganas Sultanbayev, the master of sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Turdaly Omorov, lecturer at the Osh State University and honored boxing coach of the Kyrgyz Republic.
