OshSU Secures Top Spot in Two Categories in National University Rankings
On June 18, awards were presented to the top universities in the 1st National University Rankings. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Vinera Raimbachaeva, Chair of the Social Policy Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Rasul Ababek uulu, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Onolkan Umankulova, President of the EdNet agency, along with university rectors and staff members.
The rankings were conducted by the EdNet quality assurance agency. Between October 2023 and May 2024, EdNet surveyed over 1,000 instructors and 500 employers across Kyrgyzstan, evaluating 55 universities based on several criteria:
- Academic reputation
- Employer assessments
- Quality of education
- Citation index
- Number of international faculty
- Number of international students
Osh State University achieved the highest scores in academic mobility and professional education, earning 1st place in these categories. Additionally, OshSU ranked 2nd in two areas, 3rd in seven areas, and 4th in eleven areas. In the independent national ranking of the Kyrgyz Republic, OshSU placed 4th overall, with a total score of 415.84 points.
