New Book Marks 100th Anniversary of Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast

Today, October 10, in the large assembly hall of Osh State University, a presentation was held for the book “Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast: Revival of National Statehood in the Soviet Era,” authored by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor B.K. Abytov. The event attracted participation from university scholars, lecturers, and students.

Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Ruslan Arapbaev opened the event, delivering a welcome address on behalf of the rector to the book’s author.

In his work, Professor Abytov delves into key historical events and the contributions of notable figures involved in the establishment of Kyrgyz state.

Several prominent academics shared their reflections on the book, including Adilbaev Zh.A., Professor of General History at Osh State University; Kokoeva A.M., Doctor of Law and Professor at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University; Bekburzaeva G.K., Associate Professor at OshTU; Osmonov S.Zh., Associate Professor at the Osh Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute; and Botonoev Zh.S., Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at Osh State University.

A lively discussion followed, with the author answering numerous questions from attendees.

Professor Abytov has authored over 400 scientific articles and 12 monographs. His works include Outstanding Personalities of the City of Osh (2000), Mountain Queen Kurmanjan and Her Time (2002), Kyrgyz Statehood: Problems, Signs, and Stages (2004), The City of Uzgen in Sources (2008), The Thousand-Year History of the City of Osh, and Constitutional Development of Kyrgyzstan: Historical Analysis (2020). His most recent publication is Osh State University: Transformation from Model 2.0 University to Model 4.0 (2024).

The event was organized to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Oblast.
