Osh State University hosts Spartakiad between Kyrgyz and Uzbek students
On June 23, Osh State University hosted a Spartakiad between students from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The event took place in the university’s gyms and sports facilities.
The program featured eight disciplines: mini-football, volleyball, streetball, weightlifting, belt wrestling (alish), table tennis, badminton, and chess. The Kyrgyz side was represented by the Osh State University team, which competed in seven of the events. The competitions concluded the same day, and the winners were awarded.
The event was organized by the State Agency for Physical Education and Sports with the aim of fostering friendship among the youth of both countries, promoting physical activity and sports, and enhancing the role of physical education among adolescents and young adults.
This was the second edition of the competition, held among the winners of the Inter-Universiade. The first took place in 2023 in Kokand, Uzbekistan.
