The impact factor of scientific journals at Osh State University has seen an increase, as revealed by the 2024 data from the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). The five-year impact factor of the “Bulletin of Osh State University” journal reached 0.288, while its two-year impact factor was 0.468.

In Kyrgyzstan, for academic degrees and titles to be awarded, publications in databases like Scopus, Web of Science, or RSCI with an impact factor above 0.2 for doctors and 0.1 for candidates are required. For instance, the regulations of the National Attestation Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic state that the key findings of a candidate’s dissertation must be published in journals indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, or RSCI with an impact factor of at least 0.1(https://cbd.minjust.gov.kg/430838/edition/1128089/kg).

Additionally, under the regulations for awarding academic titles, associate professor can be granted to doctors and candidates of sciences who have articles in journals meeting the same indexing and impact factor criteria above 0.2 for doctors and 0.1 for candidates.

Since 2022, scientific journals of Osh State University have been transferred to the open system Open Journal Systems (OJS), becoming the first in Kyrgyzstan to be fully digitized. Submission of articles to the journal, their editing, review and publication are carried out on the website.

In 2022, the publication of separate serial journals in various fields of science began. Currently, 13 scientific journals of the university are being published (journal.oshsu.kg). According to RSCI data for 2024, the two-year impact factors of OshSU journals created in 2022 have also been published. Journals:
