Advancing Education and Research Collaboration: Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Delegation Visits Osh State University
A delegation from the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, headed by Rector Denis Fomin-Nilov, paid a visit to Osh State University, where they were warmly received by Rector Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov. Throughout the meeting, both parties extensively discussed collaboration prospects in education, science, and international relations.
The primary focus centered on elevating the quality and competitiveness of education within Kyrgyzstan and on a global scale. This was to be achieved through the exchange of experiences and fostering mutual support among educational institutions. Osh State University, esteemed as a leading academic institution, holds a significant position as the consortium provider responsible for facilitating access to Elsevier, an esteemed international scientometric database. This strategic move is perceived as a substantial leap forward in advancing education and scientific research in the country, fostering integration into the global research arena. Discussions also emphasized strategies for the progression of scientific journals.
The delegation had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with Osh State University's educational atmosphere, ongoing scientific inquiries, and the institution's ongoing efforts in digitalization.
Of particular significance, a pivotal moment in this collaboration occurred on September 8, 2023, with the official signing of a memorandum of understanding between Elsevier and Osh State University, representing a consortium comprising 15 Kyrgyzstan universities. This momentous agreement marked a significant milestone in their joint endeavors.
