Residents evacuated from villages in the Tajikistan-bordering Batken area are still being housed in OshSU dorms. A mobile group consisting of psychologists and medical workers is working with them.

“As of September 18 at 10:00 a.m., a total of 326 people were accommodated. Among them, 22 citizens were taken by their relatives to Bishkek. Currently, 304 citizens live in the dormitories of the OshSU. 3 hot meals daily are being organized for them. With the support of the local community, the most necessary hygiene products, underwear, dishes are taken and the conditions are fully reviewed. Our psychologists are working with young children, and various uplifting activities are being carried out. On the night of September 17 to September 18, more than 80 citizens came and settled. The number of volunteers and our colleagues who want to organize hot meals is increasing, we can pay tribute to our generous people,” said Jyldyz Artykova, head of the “OshSU with Batken” headquarters, vice-rector for working with the student community.
