The Nur newspaper was the first school for me

We came to Osh hoping to pursue a career in journalism. At that time, Osh State University had just inaugurated its journalism department. There was still no material and technological foundation in the journalism department as we had hoped, even after two months. Additionally, the lecturers were lack of the experience we anticipated. We started to discuss these matters with the rector out of concern. We were collected in auditorium 310 at that time by a lively one. After providing a thorough description of journalism, he shared his thoughts on overcoming obstacles, establishing justice in society, broadening one's perspective, and outlining the duties that needed to be completed. He was Kanybek Isakov, our esteemed mentor and the editor of the "Nur" newspaper at that time. Following that meeting, our passion for journalism deepened, and our goals started to realize. We took the mentor's advice and entered the press world. The publication of articles that we had written and edited made us quite happy. The mentor gave us the ability to strive for higher success.

By the way, the Nur newspaper was the first school for me. I worked as a reporter, executive secretary, and editor in the newspaper. At that time, the "Nur" newspaper was not published in offset printing as it is now. Ernis Kyazov, my late friend, and I went to the regional printing house, checked every text, replaced the letters and words cast in the mold to correct mistakes, and together we took on the task of publishing the newspaper. There was no rest on the day of the publication of the newspaper. As soon as the newspaper reaches our hands in the morning, the first thing we do was bring the good news to Kanybek agay, our editor. Then we distributed it throughout the university. "Nur" newspaper has become a great school not only for young people interested in journalism but also for young people interested in creativity in our university. Nur newspaper was the source of the research of several journalists and poets-writers. Kubanych Zoldoshov, who was working together as an editorial team at that time, became a well-known analytical journalist. He is currently working at Radio "Azattyk". Our friend Ulan Turdaliev has made a lot of success in the field of business. Zamirbek Bojonov is Osh State University's first vice-rector. Other people who work with us are prominent journalists, scientists, and managers.

I heartily congratulate the newspaper editorial team, my former colleagues, and anybody else who has contributed to "Nur" newspaper outside of the editorial office on the newspaper's 30th anniversary! May "Nur" newspaper have a long and prosperous life. May it serve as Osh State University's history and continue to be the sacred space for all students.
