Osh State University celebrating Native Language Day

At the T. Satylganov regional library a celebratory event "The origins of the nation is the native language" was held today, February 16, by the Kyrgyz Language and Literature Chair of the Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism Department. The Vice-Rector for the State Language and Social Work of Osh State University Mastura Sharipova, the Head of the Department for the Development of the State Language in the Regions of the National Commission on State Language under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almagul Telekmanova, lecturers, students, and library staff all attended the event.

Mastura Sharipova said: “A number of events are scheduled throughout the month under the overall theme "Multilingualism reaches out its hand to the whole world”. A large celebration will be held on February 21 at Osh State University in conjunction with the Osh mayor's office and the Osh regional office of the Assembly of the Peoples of Kyrgyzstan. The official language is the language of friendliness and unity.”

It should be noted that the Kyrgyz Republic's Cabinet of Ministers designated January 21 to February 21, 2023, as the month of World Mother Language Day. Every regions of the nation will host a variety of thematic activities at the educational institutions.
