Medicine Faculty students are participating in the International Olympiad
Sechenov Moscow State Medical University is hosting the M.I. Perelman XXXI International Surgery Olympiad of Students. Only one team from Kyrgyzstan is taking part in the final round, and that team is made up of 14 students from the Osh State Medical Faculty.
The OshSU team participated under the leadership of the head of the Faculty of Medicine's "Surgery" club, lecturers Bektur Erkinali uulu and Akylbek Shakirov. The team used a laparoscopic tool to execute a procedure on a hernia of the esophagus, which is one of the uncommon operations.
Due to the demands of the surgical specialty, the rules of this year's Olympiad have modified. According to it, exams on abdominal, cardiovascular, plastic, gastrointestinal, thoracic, operative delivery, reconstructive urology, anesthesiology and resuscitation were included.
The Olympics will continue until April 15.
