The 70th anniversary of A. Erkebaev was marked at OshSU
The renowned scholar, literary critic, prominent state figure, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Honorary Professor of Osh State University, and academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Abdygany Erkebaev, celebrates his 70th birthday. In connection with this, a scientific-practical conference titled "Exemplary Life" is taking place today at Osh State University.
Participants of the forum were shown thematic video and staged performance reflecting the life and activities of Erkebaev. Subsequently, the rector of Osh State University and other guests addressed the audience with welcoming words.
The main topics of the scientific reports revolved around Abdygany Erkebaev's role in the development of Kyrgyz literature and literary criticism, as well as his contributions to the socio-political life of the country.
Abdygany Erkebaev was born on September 1, 1953, in the village of Kara-Teit in the Chon-Alai district of the Osh region. He is a prominent public and state figure, writer, critic, Doctor of Philological Sciences (1992), academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (1993), president of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (2012-2017), chairman of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Kyrgyzstan.
