In a meeting held in Bishkek to assess the results of the USAID "Cure Tuberculosis" program's four-year partnership with the media, there were discussions about forthcoming strategies to raise awareness about tuberculosis in Kyrgyzstan. Nurzhamal Mapaeva, Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Youth Policy at Osh State University, actively participated in these deliberations.

Mapaeva highlighted the university's two-year involvement in the project, focusing on training 60 student volunteers from the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism. These volunteers engaged in educational campaigns targeting fellow students, aiming to raise awareness and prevent tuberculosis.

Moreover, as part of the event, the USAID “Cure Tuberculosis” project arranged a special contest. Muslima Dovurova, a third-year student from the Faculty of Kyrgyz Philology and Journalism, participated and was honored with an award in the “Best work in Internet information resources” category.
