To mark the fifth anniversary of Osh State University’s newspaper, “Didaktika,” a forum titled “The Newspaper’s Role in the Internet Era” was organized. Participants included chief editors from Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions, as well as representatives from district and city newspapers, journalists, educators, and students.
During the event, discussions revolved around strategies to sustain newspapers amidst the evolution of new media, emphasizing the press’s role. Suggestions were made for collaborative initiatives to enhance newspaper readability and optimize the use of internet resources in editorial processes.
As part of the forum, the creation of the “Altyn Kalem” club, uniting chief editors from various regional, district, and city newspapers, was announced along with the adoption of a resolution. Journalist Turgunbai Aldakulov, the editor of the newspaper “Didaktika” received a letter of appreciation from the university, and certificates of honor and badges from the guests.
The “Didaktika” newspaper serves as a scholarly, pedagogical, and informative publication for Osh State University’s teaching staff. Since its inception in 2018, the newspaper is currently released on a monthly basis with a circulation of 1,800 copies. It is distributed free of charge to the university’s teaching staff and its libraries.
