Osh State University Prepares Grand Celebration for its 85th Anniversary
Osh State University is gearing up for a momentous celebration as it approaches its 85th anniversary. The university’s Rector, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, recently chaired a meeting alongside the university’s leadership and professional union to discuss the plans for the upcoming commemorative events.
During the meeting, the organizational and working groups responsible for the anniversary event were approved. Tasks and responsibilities were assigned to the leaders of respective structures as part of the detailed plan for the celebrations dedicated to the 85-year history of the institution.
The grand celebration of Osh State University’s 85th anniversary is scheduled to take place on may 31, 2024, at the A. Suyunbaev Central Stadium in Osh.
Various competitions and events are planned in honor of the milestone, including the “OshSU through the Eyes of painters” competition, a Kyrgyz song singing competition, Kazakh-Kyrgyz Poetry Evening, journalists’ forum, alumni association activities, national startup competitions, international conferences, inventor competitions, and sporting events.
As part of the festivities, a documentary film capturing the 85-year history of Osh State University will also be produced.
The roots of Osh State University, marking its 85th anniversary, trace back to the Osh Teacher Training Institute, which was established in 1939. In 1951, the institute transformed into the Osh Pedagogical Institute and was later re-established as Osh State University in 1992.
The upcoming celebration is not only a reflection of the university’s rich history but also an opportunity to showcase its achievements, innovations, and contributions to education and society over the past eight and a half decades. Osh State University stands as a testament to academic excellence and a commitment to shaping the future through education. The diverse range of activities planned for the anniversary underscores the university’s vibrant and dynamic role in the cultural, educational, and scientific landscape of the region. As the date approaches, the anticipation for this momentous occasion continues to build, promising a day of reflection, celebration, and a vision for the future.
