A delegation led by Shavkat Sharipov, the Dean of the Faculty of Geography and GIS at Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, visited Osh State University where they met with Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, the rector of Osh State University.
During the meeting, it was acknowledged that the agreements regarding collaboration between the two universities, student academic mobility, exchange of faculty expertise, and joint research endeavors are well-established. Suggestions were put forward to amend the existing bilateral cooperation agreement.
On February 20, the delegation delivered guest lectures as part of the “Applied Geodesy” program offered by Osh State University’s Faculty of Natural Sciences, Tourism, and Agricultural Technologies. Subsequently, on February 21, Osh State University will participate in a discussion aimed at inaugurating PhD programs, postgraduate studies, publishing articles in reputable journals such as Scopus, Web of Science, and RSCI, and developing contemporary scientific projects for the applied geodesy program at Osh State University.
Dinara Abzhaparova, the Associate Professor and head of the applied geodesy program, remarked, “We have previously conducted a guest lecture at Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan and exchanged insights. Their well-developed GIS program and the study of “Space Geodesy” are notable. The visiting delegation will share their knowledge and experiences in this field through guest lectures. Additionally, their representatives will take part in our event commemorating Geodesy and Cartography Workers’ Day, celebrated on February 22, to which all industry graduates have been invited.”
