As part of the project titled “Promoting Social Unity by Addressing Xenophobia and Anti-Migrant Sentiments towards International Migrants in Kyrgyzstan”, the International Organization for Migration in Kyrgyzstan held a three-day training session in Bishkek from March 12 to 14, 2024. The training targeted representatives from governmental bodies, ministries, and higher education institutions that engage with foreign students. Nurlakim Arziev, the Head of the Security Service, and Timur Payzildaev, the Deputy Dean of the International Medical Faculty, represented Osh State University at this event.

The project's primary objective is to foster social cohesion and socio-economic development by involving migrants in the Kyrgyz community and enhancing the security of foreign students within the country. A key focus of the training was ensuring the safety of foreign students during their educational tenure in Kyrgyzstan. Representatives from Osh State University elaborated on the initiatives undertaken to facilitate the smooth integration of foreign students into local communities, prevent criminal activities, and deter offences committed by foreigners. Notably, the discussion emphasized strategies to ensure the safety of foreign students throughout their academic journey, including close collaboration with law enforcement and governmental entities at local levels.

Upon the conclusion of the training, participants were presented with specialized certificates.
